The process is less romantic than a portfolio makes it look. I break the brief first, because a brief is usually a description of a solution somebody already picked. Then research until the real problem is boring and obvious. Then structure, because most bad interfaces are just bad architecture wearing nice paint. Then screens, every state, and a handoff nobody has to ask me about.

Then I stay for the part that is easy to skip: finding out whether it worked. A beautiful onboarding that leaks eighty percent of its users is still just a nice-looking leak.
